- assess medical suitability for donation
- present option of donation to family
- assure that consent is obtained within legal guidelines
- coordinate medical management of donor
- allocate organs based on nationally developed criteria (UNOS)
- coordinate surgical recovery and transport of organs to transplant center(s)
