Programs & Services
  • Organ and Tissue Recovery - our transplant coordinators are specially trained to coordinate all aspects of the organ and tissue donation process, beginning with evaluating potential donors, talking with family members and obtaining consent, allocation of organs to appropriate recipients based on a nationally developed criteria (UNOS), and arranging for the recovery of donated organs.
  • Family Services - Family Services offers a wide range of services that begin almost immediately after a family consents to donation including offering grief support resources, providing information and updates about the donation, facilitating correspondence between donor families and recipients, as well as, sponsoring an annual Donor Recognition Ceremony and a "Hope for the Holidays" gathering.
  • Hospital Services - provides local hospitals with guidance regarding optimal procurement process.
  • Public Education - Promotes organ and tissue donation through various public education venues. Find us at our booths at various community events and health fairs (See Upcoming Events on our Home Page).
  • Minority Organ Tissue Transplant Education Program - A statewide education program about organ and tissue donation for Hawaii’s ethnic minorities. The education effort for Filipinos is conducted through collaboration with various community groups statewide and is supported by a grant-funded project involving MOTTEP, ODCH, and the Cancer Research Center of Hawaii/University of Hawaii.
